Moved by a profound sense of shock, I chose to capture this image featuring a young girl and a boy, both around the age of 20. The experience of their youth and the evident struggles they faced evoked a complex blend of emotions within me, like sadness and compassion. It was hard to witness their youthful potential overshadowed by the weight of their circumstances.

At the moment when I was taking this shot, guys from the area came up to me and warned me to stop taking pictures or I’ll be stabbed. I pushed the button, the shutter clicked, and I apologized and moved on.

This is one of the most painful shots. I saw many teens on the streets who were involved in the sex business. I have seen teens younger than 18 for sure. I saw teens whose faces were criplled from the consequences of their routine.
